Hi there! Welcome to my blog!
A little about "Crafter on a Mission"...
In September of 2013 I went on my first mission trip. A group of us went to Guatemala, to the very small town of Cunen to finish work on a health clinic and to provide health care to the Mayan people in the area. I was part of the team that went into neighboring villages to provide health clinics, I sorted meds and filled prescriptions and prayed with some wonderful, faithful people. I came home determined to continue to somehow help the people that had won a big piece of my heart.
So that explains the "on a Mission"...what's with the "Crafter" part of the title of this blog?
After I got home my youngest child asked me to make her a hat. I had crocheted a little off and on for decades, but never more than one thing at a time or so. I made her a hat and then it occurred to me that I could make more... I could even make a bunch and sell them to help the people of Guatemala! I made bunches of hats, some scarves, doll hats, headbands and various other stuff and did a few craft fairs and a mission was born! A bunch of people asked if I had a website with some pictures of what I had made... well, here it is!!
All proceeds from what I sell are being set aside to fund either another mission trip to Guatemala with http://www.saludypaz.org/ (the organization I went with) or, if I am unable to go on another trip soon, to donate to a group going on a trip with the same organization. This is a great organization that has made a huge difference in the Mayan people.
I will be posting pictures of some of the things I have made, and will be happy to take orders or sell things that I have in stock. I will also post info on any craft fairs I will be selling at.
Thanks for checking out my blog!!!
